About this Talk

The Cross-Border Youth Cooperation Panel hosted 3 young leaders with a lot of experience in this field. They joined us from different parts of the world and expressed their views on international youth cooperation, the role Model UN plays in this process and how it can be utilized for positive change.

Victoria Khu Victoria Khu is a Russian-born Chinese, Co-founder and President of SCOLAR Network (2017), a platform missioned to connect young leaders from the SCO countries. SCOLAR’s focus is on three tracks of culture, education, and social entrepreneurship with hubs running across 7 countries. A flagship SCOLAR project "Model SCO" was organized 11 times and has received support from the SCO Prime Ministers in 2018 and 2019.

Victoria is an adjunct lecturer at Tsinghua University, teaching English confidence workshops. She is also a TEDx speaker, curator of the WEF Global Shapers Beijing Hub, fellow of Tencent THINC Fellowship (2020), co-founder of Russian Student Association in China (2015), and board member of Tsinghua SABRI Student Association. Victoria has received MA from Tsinghua University in Journalism and Communication.

Aleksandar Ljubomirović Aleksandar Ljubomirović (25), born in Republic of Serbia, graduated from the prestigious Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, where he obtained two Bachelor of Arts degree, one in political science and the second one in history. As of 2020, he is enrolled at the Freie University of Berlin, where he is currently finishing his Master of Arts studies about East European Affairs. Within his MA studies, Aleksandar also briefly studied at the Higher School of Economics in Saint Petersburg, where he had the opportunity to learn about Russian language, history and political landscape. Aleksandar was the main organizer and Secretary General of IsarMUN 2016 in Munich and RGMUN 2019 in Istanbul. Until recently, he served as President of the Organization of Serbian Students Abroad (OSSI), one of the largest student networks on the Balkan peninsula. In 2020, he got elected Young European Ambassador by the European Commission and the DG Near. As of 2022, Aleksandar is the International Secretary and Presidency member of the People’s Party in Serbia.

Aleksandar is fluent in Serbian, German as well as English, and is currently learning the Russian language.

Sameh Kamel Dr. Sameh Kamel, MBBS graduated in August 2020 from October 6 University with an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) with honours. He currently works as a teaching assistant of ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Modern University for Technology and Information MTI. Dr. Kamel is a strong youth activist. Since 2015, Sameh has been the Regional Focal Point of the Middle East and North Africa at the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY). Through his role, he facilitated youth engagement at multiple United Nations intergovernmental negotiations and processes on behalf of MGCY. Furthermore, Dr. Kamel helped establish the first youth engagement mechanism at an Arab Intergovernmental Organization in 2018 and now serves as the Organising Partner for External Affairs and International Relations at the Arab Youth Platform for Sustainable Development – League of Arab States.
